How we handle your personal information, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

1. Who we are
Verdant Life ("we", "us") is a small-batch, plant-based food brand based in Cape Town, South Africa. We are the responsible party for the personal information collected through this website. Questions can go to hello@verdantlife.co.za.
2. What we collect
- Contact form: your name, email address, enquiry type and message.
- Newsletter: your email address.
- Orders: your name, delivery address, contact details and order items. Card and bank payment details are handled directly by our payment provider — we never see or store them.
- Usage data: basic, anonymised analytics, only if you accept cookies.
3. Why we use it
To reply to your enquiries, process and deliver your orders, send the newsletter you signed up for, and improve the website. We only use your information for the purpose you gave it.
4. Who we share it with
Only the providers we need to run the shop: our payment gateway (Stitch) to take payment securely, our courier to deliver your order, and our email/hosting providers. We do not sell your personal information.
5. How long we keep it
Order records are kept as long as needed for tax and accounting law. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Enquiries are kept only as long as needed to help you.
6. Cookies
The site loads no tracking cookies until you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. You can decline and the site works exactly the same.
7. Your rights under POPIA
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, object to its processing, or unsubscribe at any time. Email hello@verdantlife.co.za and we will action it. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
8. Security
The site runs over HTTPS and payments are processed by a PCI-compliant provider. We take reasonable steps to protect your information, though no online service can promise absolute security.
